Paul Barnes translates and introduces Worlds Unread editions, selecting books that have fallen through the English translation gap.

The Worlds Unread project is built around a simple idea: readers should be able to discover one overlooked book, click through the same translator/curator identity, and find the rest of a growing catalogue.

Current work

Paul's first Worlds Unread title is The False Baron, translated from the 1861 German true-crime collection Der neue Pitaval.

Editorial approach

Translations are source-checked and edited for natural English while preserving historical ambiguity, documentary evidence and the original editors' point of view. Worlds Unread editions aim to be readable first, but never careless with the source.
